Frequently Asked Questions

Good To Know

Before You Build

How do I get a quote?

Start with the contact form or give us a call. We'll arrange a site visit, talk through what you want to achieve, and come back to you with a clear, itemised quote - free and obligation-free.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Scott JG Constructions is a licensed and insured building company. Our builder licence number is 302189C, and it appears on every contract we issue.

What areas do you service?

We build across the Central Coast and Newcastle. Recent projects include Umina Beach, Ettalong Beach, Booker Bay, Point Clare and Wamberal.

Do you handle council approvals?

Yes. Where your project needs development approval or certification, we coordinate the process - plans, approvals and certifiers - so the paperwork doesn't hold up the build.

How long will my project take?

It depends on the scope, and we'd rather give you a real answer than a guess. Every quote comes with a realistic schedule for your specific project, and we keep you updated on progress throughout the build.

Do you use your own trades?

Every trade on site is coordinated by us and accountable to us. You deal with one builder from start to finish, not a chain of subcontractors.

Can I make changes once the build has started?

Small changes happen on most projects. We document any variation in writing with its cost before the work is done, so the invoice never surprises you.

Is your work covered by a warranty?

Yes - we stand behind our workmanship with warranty on all work, alongside the statutory warranties that apply to residential building work in NSW.

Do you take on small jobs like decks and pergolas?

Absolutely. Decks, pergolas and outdoor living projects are a core part of what we do - the same quality and process applies whether it's a deck or a whole new home.

Do you do commercial projects?

Yes. Alongside residential work we take on commercial fit-outs and builds - talk to us about your project.
